How We Prep for Holiday Season (Yes… In September!)

You might be thinking about pumpkins, football, and the first signs of fall. We’re thinking about holiday parties.

Yes — September is already holiday season behind the scenes at Simply Fresh Events.

While our clients are just starting to think about their holiday celebrations, our team is already planning menus, reviewing event details, organizing staffing, and making sure we’re ready for the busiest time of the year.

Because when November and December arrive, there isn’t much time to figure things out. The work happens now.

Why Does Holiday Planning Start So Early?

The holiday season is one of the busiest times of year for corporate events, private celebrations, fundraisers, and family gatherings.

And unlike a typical event, holiday events often happen within a very short window. There are only so many Fridays and Saturdays between Thanksgiving and New Year’s, and popular dates can fill quickly.

Starting early gives us the time to do what we do best: create an event that feels thoughtful, organized, and completely yours.

It also means we can plan ahead for the details our clients may not even have thought about yet.

We’re Building Holiday Menus Now

One of the biggest parts of our September prep is the food.

We’re looking at what’s seasonal, what’s exciting, what works well for large groups, and what will make guests say, “Wow.”

Holiday catering doesn’t have to mean the same traditional menu every year. Depending on the event, we might create elegant passed hors d’oeuvres, interactive food stations, festive buffets, plated dinners, creative desserts, or a combination of it all.

We’re also thinking about the practical side of the menu — how food will be prepared, transported, displayed, replenished, and served so that it looks and tastes its best when your guests arrive.

We’re Thinking About Your Guest Experience

Great catering is about much more than what’s on the plate.

We’re thinking about the entire experience.

Where will guests enter? Where will they get a drink? How will the food flow? Is there enough space for guests to comfortably mingle? Where should stations be positioned? How can we keep the bar moving when everyone arrives at once?

These details may not be obvious to your guests — and that’s the point.

When we’re doing our job well, everything feels effortless.

Our Team Is Getting Ready, Too

Holiday events take a team.

Behind every beautifully executed holiday party is a group of people coordinating menus, rentals, staffing, logistics, setup, service, and cleanup.

September is when we start looking ahead at our holiday schedule and making sure we have the people and resources in place to deliver the level of service our clients expect.

We’re Planning for More Than Just the Food

A successful holiday event requires a lot of moving pieces.

Depending on the event, that can include:

  • Catering and menu planning
  • Bar service
  • Rentals and equipment
  • Staffing
  • Event setup and breakdown
  • Venue logistics
  • Food stations and displays
  • Dietary accommodations
  • Timing and service flow
  • Holiday décor and presentation

We work closely with our clients and event partners to make sure all those pieces come together.

Because the goal isn’t simply to feed your guests.

The goal is to create an event they’ll remember.

And Yes, We’re Already Thinking About Desserts

We couldn’t forget dessert.

Holiday celebrations are the perfect opportunity to have a little fun with the sweet stuff — from elegant dessert displays to individual treats and interactive stations.

Whether your event calls for something classic, sophisticated, playful, or completely over-the-top, we’re always looking for ways to make dessert part of the experience.

What This Means for You

If you’re planning a holiday event, you don’t need to have every detail figured out before you reach out to us.

That’s what we’re here for.

You may know that you want to host a company holiday party but aren’t sure what the menu should look like. Maybe you have a venue but need help figuring out the best food service. Or maybe you simply know you want to throw a great party and need someone to help bring it all together.

We can help you work through those decisions.

And the earlier you start, the more options we have to create something truly special.

So While You’re Enjoying September…

We’re already thinking about December.

We’re planning menus. We’re organizing teams. We’re working through logistics. We’re dreaming up food displays. We’re talking with clients. And we’re getting ready for another busy holiday season.

So if a holiday party is on your calendar this year, now is the time to start planning.

Your future December self will thank you.
