Celebrating Culinary Arts Month with the Simply Fresh Culinary Team

At Simply Fresh Events, food is more than what we serve—it’s a reflection of who we are. This August, we’re proud to celebrate Culinary Arts Month by highlighting the exceptional talent behind our menus and offering a peek into the innovation happening right here in our kitchen.
Whether it’s a black-tie wedding or a company picnic, our culinary team brings professionalism, artistry, and passion to every plate. Culinary Arts Month gives us a chance to recognize their hard work, creativity, and the energy they pour into every event.

Meet the Culinary Team Behind the Magic

Executive Chef: Jonathan Till
A third-generation chef, Jonathan has cooked in some of the country’s top kitchens, from Boston’s L’Espalier to Capitol Grille in Nashville. He’s known for his bold, seasonal flavors and thoughtful sourcing—and now brings that same passion to Simply Fresh Events, blending fine-dining expertise with large-scale event execution.

Kitchen Manager: Greg Kraus
Greg oversees the day-to-day kitchen operations with steady leadership and an eye for quality. His love for food, family, and smoked meats makes him a natural fit for events that balance comfort with creativity.

Pastry/Sous Chef: Jessica Meltzer
With a background in both culinary and pastry arts from Johnson & Wales, Jess leads our pastry program and thrives on the fast-paced energy of event days. Her desserts are as artful as they are delicious, and she’s always dreaming up new sweet finishes that wow.

And of course, our full kitchen team—prep cooks, event chefs, line leads, and dish crews—make the magic happen every single day.
Innovation You Can Taste: New Menu Highlights

In honor of Culinary Arts Month, our team hosted a series of in-house tastings to test and refine new seasonal offerings. These tastings help us ensure that every dish is just as impressive for 200 guests as it is around the tasting table.
Here are just a few highlights from this summer’s menu development:
Hors D’Oeuvres
- Mini Lobster Tacos – with avocado crème slaw and sriracha aioli, served in a crispy mini corn shell
- Beet Caviar Toast – topped with honey-toasted walnuts and a dollop of crème fraîche
- Cashew-Stuffed Dates (Vegan & GF) – savory-sweet bites with toasted sumac and spice
First Courses
- Root Vegetable Galette – a free-form pastry layered with lemon ricotta, seasonal vegetables, and toasted hazelnuts
- Parsnip Soup – velvety and comforting, finished with pepitas, olive oil, and chives
Entrées & Sides
- Filet Mignon – paired with bearnaise, garlic-roasted fingerlings, and asparagus
- Greek Chicken – served with fennel tzatziki and skordalia, alongside orange-glazed carrots
- Sweet Corn & Leek Ragout – slow-cooked and full of summer flavor
Each dish goes through a full team review—from flavor and plating to timing and presentation—so when it hits your event, it’s ready to impress.

Culinary Arts, Every Day
