Virtual Wedding Show- St Francis Hall
St. Francis Hall is a historic location hidden in the Brookland neighborhood of Washington, D.C.; directly across the street from the Franciscan Monastery. Built in 1931, St. Francis Hall contains stunning Renaissance artwork, amazing architectural features, a red velvet draped stage, original flooring, and drop chandeliers – providing the charming backdrop for any event!
Today we highlight two recent weddings who used the space in very different ways – both in layout and look!
This 80 person winter wedding chose classic brass candelabras and lush greenery. The couple incorporated floral china and gold hemstitch linen napkins with antique crystal-cut glassware to create a vintage look. Complimented by the high ceilings and the family style table setting as part of the layout, their use of the space was truly distinctive and allowed for a very intimate reception.
Classic ivory with navy accents for this 170 guest wedding. It’s no doubt that Pantone Classic Blue is the color of the year! This couple relied on gold accents, like the gold chivari chairs provided by the venue, to highlight the natural wood accents and brushed stone walls. Their head table – positioned on the dance floor – provided an intimate experience for the reception.
The lighting at St. Francis Hall is completely customizable – with dimmable chandelier lights, bistro lighting, and even a disco ball! Your wedding feel can be adjusted throughout the event to highlight each step of your big day.
Because of its association with the Monastery, St. Francis offers not only a beautiful event space, but also the grounds of the Monastery for photos. The cultivated gardens are the perfect spot for portraits and group photos. You can wander through the formal upper garden, natural lower garden, vegetable garden as well as the bee apiaries behind the monastery. Also worth mentioning, despite being in DC, there are two parking lots available for free parking while attending events!
A favorite of our staff for cocktail hour is absolutely the mediterrean antipasti. The variety of the options makes it ideal to meet any number of dietary concerns, from gluten free to vegan; or just for those looking for some healthier options. While seen here in a station, this appetizer also lends itself well to individual portions or passed apps. Variations include cucumber hummus bites, caprese skewers, hummus and veggie cups, caponata on crostinis- the variations are endless!
Our featured preferred partner this week is Select Event Rentals. Select offers everything from linens to tents, all available to rent for your event. They have an amazing showroom in Tysons Corner that is available to visit for our clients, with thousands of combinations for your special occasion. The variety of options they stock and provide allows us to create a very unique event.
